TVS has recently unveiled its latest creation, the X electric scooter, a futuristic marvel that has evolved from the captivating Creon concept initially showcased at Auto Expo 2018. TVS has admirably preserved much of the scooter’s original charm, albeit with some noticeable aesthetic alterations. A glance reveals that the TVS X electric scooter now boasts protectors for both brake levers, coupled with a split-seat configuration, a departure from Creon’s single rider seat.
Additional subtle revisions encompass a slightly narrower and sleeker front apron panel, accompanied by more defined side panels. An intriguing touch is how the X’s underseat panels are crafted to elegantly exhibit its striking blue aluminium frame—a genuinely captivating feature.
However, the dramatic disparity lies in the charging dynamics. The Creon Concept’s rapid charging prowess allowed an astounding 80 per cent charge in just 60 minutes. In contrast, the TVS X electric scooter relies on a standard 950W charger, necessitating 3 hours and 40 minutes for the same charge. While this represents a significant increase over the Creon, it might not be overly discouraging considering the X’s formidable 3.8kWh battery pack. With the introduction of a 3kW fast charger, 0-50 per cent charging is attainable within an hour.
Yet, where the X truly outshines the Creon is through an array of impressive features. Most notably, the colossal 10.25-inch TFT display is a pioneering feature in the realm of two-wheelers. This stunning console is a hub of functionality, offering customization options for wallpapers and icon arrangements. The extensive list of capabilities includes navigation, Smart Xhield (which encompasses crash alerts, overspeeding alerts, theft alerts, geofencing, etc.), wellness features, gaming, live video streaming, and even cruise control. The depth of innovation is astounding. While a comprehensive rundown of these features is forthcoming from ZigWheels, it’s safe to say that the X is redefining the standards.
Notably, the Creon featured a TFT console, albeit substantially smaller than the X’s expansive tablet-like interface. Although TVS was tight-lipped about the specifics of the Creon’s console, it did provide essential information such as vehicle speed, motor RPM, tripmeter, battery charge, and battery health status. Intel played a pivotal role in its development.
