Electric Two-Wheeler makers in india announced a price rises from 1st April 2024. Even though electric scooters cost more to buy each month, people still buy e-scooters a lot because they save money on fuel and maintenance. So, even though they have to spend more initially, they end up saving money in the long run.
Why Price Rise
As the Fame II subsidy scheme ended on 31st March 2024, the government introduced a new Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS). This scheme is started to incentivize EV adaptation so that sales will not be highly impacted. The new EMP scheme subsidy is 10,000 which is less than the Fame II subsidy. Only Ola Electric a leading electric two-wheeler will maintain the current prices till 15th April 2024 which has ₹5000 offers and other electric two-wheelers like Ather, TVS, Bajaj, and Vida have declared price hikes.
New Prices of Ather, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak & Hero Vida
Ather, TVS, Bajaj, and Vida (Hero MotoCorp) have declared price rises by ₹3000 to 16,000 depending on the Model. The Ather 450S has increased from ₹1.10 lakh to 1.26 lakh and seen an increase of 16,000. The highest price rise among all electric scooter models.
While Ather 450 (3.7 kWh) sees its price hiked from Rs 1.45 lakh to Rs 1.55 lakh, revised to 10,000. Ather 450X (2.9 kWh) sees a price rise of ₹3,000 from ₹1.38 lakh to 1.41 lakh. New Ather Rizta comes in three variants: Rizta S priced at Rs 1.09 lakh, Rizta Z (2.9 kWh) at Rs 1.12 lakh and Rizta (3.7 kWh) at Rs 1.44 lakh.
Bajaj Auto offers four variants in Chetak Premium and Urban has increased: Chetak Premium price hiked by 12,000 and is now priced at ₹1.47 lakh while the Urban variant increased from ₹1.15 lakh to ₹1.23 lakh and an increase of 8,000. TVS iQube and iQube S have seen price hikes of ₹3,000 and 6,000 respectively. The new prices for models are at ₹1.37 lakh and ₹1.46 lakh.
Hero Vida V1 Plus increased to ₹1.20 lakh an increase of 5,000 while Vida V1 Pro was initially priced at ₹1.46 lakh and revised to ₹1.50 lakh which is ₹4,000 higher now.
Okaya EV India’s fastest-growing electric two-wheeler also maintains the current price and has announced an exciting festive offer which great opportunity for customers to grab. India’s leading EV company, Ola Electric has not planned a price Increase unit 15th April 2024.
