Lectrix EV launched Electric Scooter at ₹49,999 on a Battery Subscription Basis

New Delhi: The electric mobility arm of the legendary SAR Group, Lectrix EV launches a new electric two-wheeler at ₹49,999, the first OEM, particularly in India, the e-scooter will be offered the battery as a service which means customers will have to pay for battery services on subscription basis.

The company claims that customers pay almost 40% less than the actual price which easier to own an electric scooter. The e-scooter offers a claimed range of 100 km on a single charge, a clocking speed of 50 km/h, and a lifetime warranty on the battery.

Pritesh Talwar, President – EV Business at Lectrix EV expressed, “This new electric scooter offers unparalleled affordability with an ex-showroom price starting at INR 49,999. The customers are getting a high-speed EV at the cost of a slow-speed EV. This disruptive pricing strategy eliminates the need for heavy reliance on government subsidies, ensuring a sustainable and economically viable solution for both the OEM and customers.”

He further expressed “The concept is simple yet transformative – By delinking the battery from the vehicle and providing it as a service, the Electric Two-wheeler experience becomes more accessible and affordable for customers. When you compare our Battery on Subscription model to ICE vehicles, the advantages of the former are unmatched. The upfront cost of purchasing an ICE vehicle amounts to Rs 1 lakh, double the cost of our offering.

Additionally, the monthly maintenance on petrol is on the rise, this combined with the maintenance cost of an ICE vehicle makes our subscription plan more economical. The major challenges for EV adoption have been their high price and uncertainty around the battery and with this launch, we have solved both these challenges.

This ownership model provides great flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Complied with the government’s vision of Net Zero emission by 2070, The company is working on ways to boost EV adoption in India.
